Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about our AI literacy and data storytelling training for Canadian teams — including what we are not.

Is Data Narrative a business intelligence software vendor or guaranteed analytics product?

No. Data Narrative Inc. provides AI literacy and data storytelling training for Canadian teams. We teach methods for framing and communicating data with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude under human review — not software licences, not guaranteed business outcomes, and not automated decision-making without oversight. Our narrative workshop curriculum covers prompt engineering, responsible AI governance, and story-led analysis. We do not sell dashboard platforms, resell BI subscriptions, or promise analytics ROI. If you need a software vendor, we are the wrong organization; if you need professional training for in-house teams to communicate data with integrity, we are exactly who we say we are.

What prerequisites do participants need?

No programming or machine learning expertise is required for foundations modules. Participants should be comfortable with spreadsheets, reading business reports, and writing professional email. Managers, analysts, communications staff, and operations leads all attend successfully. Advanced modules assume completion of AI Data Storytelling Foundations or equivalent experience drafting reports in a corporate setting.

Are sessions online, in-person, or hybrid?

All formats are available. Default cohort workshops run in-person at our Bay Street studio with hybrid seats for remote Canadian team members. Self-paced module bundles are fully online with scheduled live Q&A. Corporate team programmes can be delivered on your premises anywhere in Canada.

What is the typical cohort size?

Public cohorts cap at twelve participants to ensure facilitator attention during prompt engineering exercises. Corporate team programmes scale to twenty-four with an assistant facilitator. Executive briefings are limited to eight attendees.

How much does corporate training cost?

Public modules range from C$595 to C$950 per participant. Corporate team programmes start at C$8,500 for a customized multi-day engagement. Half-day executive briefings are C$2,800 flat. We provide written quotes in CAD before any booking is confirmed — no hidden fees.

What is your refund policy?

Cancellations more than fourteen days before a scheduled workshop receive a full refund minus a C$50 administration fee. Cancellations within fourteen days may transfer to a future cohort once at no charge. No-shows are non-refundable. Corporate contracts include separate terms outlined in the signed agreement.

How do you handle personal data under PIPEDA?

Enrollment forms collect only information needed to deliver training: name, email, organization, and dietary or accessibility notes. We do not sell participant lists. Data is stored on Canadian-hosted infrastructure with access limited to enrollment staff. See our Privacy Policy for full details and how to request access or deletion.

What do your programmes NOT include?

Our training does not include job placement guarantees, salary promises, cryptocurrency or trading instruction, medical AI diagnostics, SaaS licence sales as a primary deliverable, or life coaching. We teach vocational AI workflow skills for professional settings — nothing beyond that scope.

What is your AI tool usage policy during class?

Participants may use organization-approved generative AI tools during exercises. We prohibit pasting confidential personal data, unreleased financial figures, or client-identifiable records into public models without anonymization. Facilitators demonstrate human-in-the-loop review on every AI-assisted draft. Hallucination awareness drills are mandatory in every module.
